Saturday we went into Budapest! It was a great day! It was a warm day in Budapest but we tried to stay in the shade when we could, drink water and just go at a good pace. On the drive there and back we were all in air condition cars so that was really nice too! It was a beautiful drive there! I love seeing all the fields of sunflowers, all that yellow!

Once we got into Budapest, we went straight up to the Castle District and visited around there. You get a great view up there of both the Buda side and the Pest side. The kids loved it up there and kept saying how clean the city of Budapest is! To get to the castle district you can take this really cool tram up the side of the hill and get an awesome view as you go up. Also up on the hill we went to a museum on the history of Budapest, it was really interesting to see it through the different ages of history. After that we stayed up on the hill for lunch and found a very cute place for sandwiches.

Then it was onto Margret's Island which is right in the middle of the Danue. It is a beautiful large park with water on every side! Some nice gardens and grounds on the park, very green. There were some great foundations and pools for everyone to go to to try to stay cool in the heat. And of course ice cream too to stay cool in the afternoon.

After swimming we headed to the walking mall in the center of Budapest. Did a little walking around and then settled down for dinner and realized it was the same place I had eaten before with some of the team last summer. Still great food and people watching as shoppers and tourist walked by, even with a young girl in the background playing her flute! We saw her last summer too!

Then before leaving town, we headed up the hill again for one last view of the city at night. It is amazing view and amazing too that there were still so many people still up there! I believe Budapest really is one of the best cities I have traveled to. I think it is cleaner and more romanic then some of the other European cities.

Enjoy some of the photos of our fun day below! Some of the kids are the kids from the Cypress House here in village 2.
